St. Lawrence of Brindisi's Day is celebrated on July 21.

Giulio Cesari Russo, who would later receive the name of Lourenço de Brindisi, was born on July 22, 1559, in Brindisi, Naples. Curiously, he died on the same day, July 22, in the year 1619, on his 60th birthday, in Lisbon, on his second trip to the Iberian Peninsula. Lourenço de Brindisi was a Catholic saint and a Doctor of the Church who belonged to the Order of the Capuchin Friars Minor. He played an important role in the fight against the domination of Muslim Turks. He preased not only in Italy, but also in Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary and Portugal.

The saint is represented with a book in his hands for his saciência and for having become a Doctor of the Church.
